It all started about eight+ years ago with one sheltie, Sadie was our very first sheltie, she's the love of our life and she still remains here at Eddleman Hill. We have had some changes over the last few years, two of our children have graduated high school, our youngest is now in high school and driving. We have opened our own business in Omaha, Ne. We have added onto our home, Our Love for sheltie's has opened our hearts and home to many colors of the sheltie's.
We are often asked how do you raise all those sheltie's in your home, well let me say this...when you love the sheltie's as we do it's not hard. We have decided that we have out grown our home and have decided to add a 'Dog House' in our back yard. They will have all the comfort as they did in our home...very spoiled and pampered, we are making sure of that. The 'Dog House' is a 30' x 42' building that will have heat/AC, water, lights, kitchenette, a room for baths, grooming, washer and dryer and storage. We will have a 'Nursery' where the puppies will go after they are 8 weeks old. All puppies will be born and raised in our home, so they can have the full attention and personal care and socialization right from birth. At around age 8 weeks (after their first set of shots) they will get to go into the 'Nursery' during the day and at night they will come back into our home. We fill that this will give the puppies a new environment for the puppies as well as working on potting training and much more. We will have many runs that are adequate space, each will have their own water and food bowls, cot or bed, a dog door to be able to go out to potty and get fresh air at any time, we will have two monitors set up (so we can hear what is going on at all times), have a Tv set up for training with doggie videos), Radio we feel that having different sounds going on helps make happy healthy well adjusted dogs/puppies.
Don't worry they all still have 'personal' one on one time in our home as we feel that sheltie's belong in our home as well as a big fenced in yard to run and play which result in Happy healthy dogs. The 'Dog House' will have plenty of space for them to have free play and training, when the weather is bad. We have started doing some training and Agility.
Our New 'Dog House' is just the start of new thing too come. We are starting to doing showing with our sheltie's so watch for updates on show news! We have added some great bloodlines as well as structure behind our dog! We do health testing on our sheltie's for Hips, eyes, thyroid & vWD etc.. We take great pride in our sheltie's, they are a big part of our family, you can always find some of the sheltie's setting on our laps and watching tv in the evenings! They all love their time outside playing with us as well!
We welcome you to our home of Sheltie's to visit our furbabies, too see how we raise our sheltie's. You might just have to play a game of fetch or sit back get some puppy kisses!
We started with a big hill.... now to this
the building is 30'x42' with a 22'x10' grooming and bathing area, will also have a washer and dryer area as well some storage, 18'x14' nursery, 42'x6' sleeping area for our furry's, 36'x12' inside play area for hours of play time. We will have Three sets of outside runs on three sides of the dog house so they will be able to go outside as they choose too.
